The Insta360 Mic Transmitter is a compact wireless microphone for adding another speaker to a compatible Insta360 Mic or Mic Pro system, or recording straight to selected Insta360 cameras without a receiver. Weighing just 19.4 g, it attaches by clip or magnet and keeps the microphone close to the voice during vlogs, travel films and interviews. An optional microSD card also turns it into a standalone audio recorder with 32-bit float recording.
Clear speech with less adjustment
The single omnidirectional microphone captures voices from different directions. Two-level, NPU-powered AI noise cancellation helps reduce background sound while preserving natural speech. Automatic gain control offers an Automatic mode to reduce clipping when sound levels change suddenly and a Dynamic mode to balance fluctuations in quieter surroundings. Standard, Rich and Bright tone presets provide a natural, fuller or more present voice as needed.
Personalised E-Ink display
The 1.22-inch, six-colour E-Ink screen can display a logo, graphic or speaker identifier created in the Insta360 app. Its anti-reflective surface helps keep the design visible outdoors, while E-Ink uses very little power to hold a static image. Designs can also be shared through the app using a code or QR code.
Independent recording when it matters
Insert a compatible microSD card, from 8 GB to 1 TB according to Insta360 documentation, to enable 24-bit or 32-bit float internal recording. This creates a separate local audio file that can be useful if wireless reception is interrupted, or when recording sound without a camera. The wider dynamic range of 32-bit float gives greater latitude when correcting loud and quiet passages in editing. Recorded files can be exported to a phone or computer over USB-C. The transmitter has no built-in recording memory; a microSD card is required and sold separately.
Direct connection and convenient camera control
Insta360 Direct Connect allows the transmitter to pair over Bluetooth with compatible Insta360 X6, X5, Luna Ultra, Luna Pro, Ace Pro 2 and GO Ultra cameras for 48 kHz audio. With supported cameras, the transmitter can also start and stop camera recording remotely, and internal recording can start and stop in sync when enabled with a microSD card inserted. Direct Bluetooth recording on a phone requires a compatible third-party app rather than the native camera app. An optional compatible receiver expands use to conventional cameras, phones and computers, and supports mixing Mic and Mic Pro transmitters.
Battery life suited to longer sessions
Up to 13 hours of operation is available on one charge under Insta360 test conditions with noise cancellation and internal recording off. A full transmitter charge takes approximately 50 minutes, and five minutes of charging can provide up to 2 hours and 20 minutes of use. Power-saving options can put the transmitter to sleep when a linked receiver signal is absent. Actual battery life varies with settings and conditions.
