Tokina Vista-C Cinema lenses
Optically, Vista-C primes are tuned for a refined vintage aesthetic: gentle field distortion, natural falloff, softer edges and smooth, pleasing bokeh. Contrast is slightly lowered and the lenses produce expressive blue and red flare tones with a warmer overall rendering and reduced green cast compared to earlier Vista designs. This gives images a classic, organic feel while still retaining high central resolution suitable for modern large-format digital cinema cameras.
The series covers full-frame and large-format sensors with an image circle exceeding 46.7 mm, supporting “full-frame plus” cameras and even ARRI ALEXA 65 Open Gate. Across the range, the lenses share a fast T1.5 maximum aperture with virtually no focus breathing, allowing for shallow depth-of-field work and smooth focus pulls without distracting changes in angle of view. Vista-C primes are offered as a cohesive set, with focal lengths from 18mm up to 135mm to cover everything from wide establishing shots to tight portraits on large-format sensors.
Mechanically, Vista-C lenses are built in a robust, all-metal housing available in several different mounts, 0.8 MOD cine gears and approximately 300° of focus rotation for precise manual control. Each lens shares the same exterior form factor, including a 114 mm front outside diameter and consistent gear positions, making lens swaps fast and predictable when using matte boxes and FIZ systems. A 9-blade curved iris helps maintain smooth, rounded out-of-focus highlights as you stop down.
